Cleo "Dumpy" Purecka

Cleo “Dumpy” Purecka, age 77, of Cottondale, FL, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024 at her residence with her beloved family by her side. 

Cleo was born on February 5, 1947 in Blountstown, FL, to the late Eva and William Mathis. Cleo worked at the Cottondale Pharmacy for many years. Cleo enjoyed cooking, fishing, and above all, she loved being a mother and taking care of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Olen Mathis and David Mathis; sisters, Leola Mathis and Evelyn Mason.

Cleo is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Harvey Purecka of Cottondale, FL; sons, Marcus Randal Purecka and wife, Erin of Cottondale, FL, Timothy Scott Purecka and wife, Toni of Cottondale, FL; one sister, Carolyn Parrish of Milton, FL as well as her grand-children whom she loved dearly, Trayten Purecka, Erika Wilsie, and Madison Puecka. 

Funeral services will be 10 A.M., Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends from 9 A.M., until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
