Charles L. Benefield

Charles Benefield, age 91, of Grand Ridge, FL passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at his residence.

Charles was born in Slocomb, AL on November 15, 1929 to the late Ansel and Nodie McDaniel Benefield. Charles resided in Grand Ridge since 1955 and attended Hillside Baptist Church. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and was proud to serve his country. Charles enjoyed tinkering on his cars and riding dirt roads. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Benefield; son, James Roberts; daughter, Gloria Benefield; and his parents. 

Charles is survived by his sons, Alvin Roberts (Janis) and Jerry Benefield (Lona); daughters, Brenda O’steen and Martha Tharp (Dennis); grandchildren, Allison Oliver, April Lipford, Heather Lambert, Kellie Benefield, Derek Tharp, Ricky and Aaron Roberts, Angela Taylor, Jeremy Roberts, Kristin Monday, Allen and Timothy Roberts; 17 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 o’clock Friday, March 12, 2021 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Reverends Dallis Ellis, Johnny Ellis, and Alvin Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home, beginning at 1 o’clock on Friday, March 12, 2021.
