Carolyn Rooks Nobles

Carolyn Rooks Nobles, age 76, of Marianna, FL, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 8, 2023 in Marianna, Florida surrounded by her loving family.  Her life was characterized by her love and devotion to her children, grandchildren and devout faith in Jesus Christ.  Carolyn was the beloved Matriarch of her family.

Carolyn was born on December 29, 1946 to Clayton and Lee Rooks, in Marianna, FL.  She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County and the youngest of five children.  She graduated from Marianna High School, Class of 1964.  She worked with the Jackson County Sheriff Department for 8 years and retired from the Department of Corrections with over 35 years of service in 2002.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Lee Rooks; sister, Betty Cass; brother, Clayton “Buddy” Rooks and grandson, Cason Hatcher.

She leaves behind her son, Wesley Hatcher and wife, Christy of Marianna, FL; daughter, Christen Givens and husband, Steve of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Halee Carr and husband, Josh, Clark and Aniston Hatcher, Camden, Bert and Rachel Givens; two brothers, Doyle and Jackie Rooks; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M., Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Marianna, FL with Clay Rooks officiating. A private family interment will follow in Sink Creek Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends from 1 P.M., until the time of service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Marianna, FL
