Carey Strickland

Mr. Carey Strickland, 76, of Marianna, Florida passed away on Friday night, August 27, 2021 at Gulf Coast Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. He was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War and a farmer for most of his life.

He was predeceased by his mother and father, Lee Johnson and Vida Rooks Strickland; his brother, Lynn Strickland; and his sister, Sylvia Strickland Ingram.

He was a loving Papa to a lot of loving family. He was blessed with a large family who will miss him very much. He leaves behind wife, Ann; sons, Charlie Strickland (Donna), Wes Strickland (Sami), and Brett Barlow (Bonnie); daughter, Angel Griffin (Bryan); grandchildren, Dylan Griffin (Brittany), Cayce Griffin Jabour (Jason), Dusti Strickland, Kelli Strickland (Brandan), Jessi Strickland, Charles Johnson (CJ) Strickland, Sloan Strickland, Brando Strickland, Jacob Rushton, and Aaron Rushton; great grandchildren, Emma, Eli, Blakeli, and Graycen; nephews, Toby Ingram and Lance Ingram; niece, Shannon Ingram; and numerous relatives of the Sims, Rooks, and Gause families.

Services for Carey will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Roland Rabon officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM, until the time of service.

Those serving as honorary pallbearers will be Terry Sermans, Homer Sims, Steve Glen, Donald Wyatt, Jim Irwin, George Boyer, and John Lamar.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clifford Chester Sims State Veterans Nursing Home, 4419 Tram Road, Panama City, Florida, 32404.
