Beverly Margarita Ransom, age 69, of Marianna passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 15, 1955, Beverly was a lifelong resident of Jackson County and a shining example of dedication to both her family and her community.
Beverly was the beloved matriarch of her family, treasured by her children: Marshall White, Ta'Vain Harris, Louis Catoe, Alphia Ransom, Ashion Ransom and Ashley Thornton. She cherished her role as grandmother to Angel and Jubilee Tucker, and great-grandmother to Ashuntii White. Beverly is also survived by her siblings, Freta Williams, Becky Baxter, and her husband Roger, Leslie Adams, Bill Adams, Bruce Adams, Sammy Hodges, David Hodges, Douglas Hodges, Cindy Loper, as well as by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will all miss her deeply. She now joins her late parents, Monroe and Faye Marie Hodges, and her brother, Timothy Perkins, in eternal rest.
Graduating from Marianna High School, Beverly set the foundation for a lifetime of service to others. Her professional journey was marked by her compassionate care as a nurse, a career that spanned decades at Jackson Hospital, Sunland, and Florida State Hospital, from which she retired. Beverly's dedication as a healthcare professional earned her the respect and gratitude of her colleagues and those under her attentive care. She found her greatest joy in nurturing her family, whether through sharing wisdom, providing comfort, or celebrating their achievements.
