Beverly Jean Grimes

Beverly Jean Grimes, age 87, of Alford, FL passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at her home.

Beverly was born September 27, 1938 in Middleburgh, New York and moved to Jackson County in 1995 where she spent 50+ years with her loving husband, Walter Joseph Grimes. She opened and was the owner and operator of the Ski-Inn at Compass Lake for over 10 years. Beverly loved spending time with her family, enjoyed various arts and crafts, making cakes, and playing bingo. She also enjoyed surprising her family with rearranging furniture around their home and traveling back to the Florida Keys for camping trips. 

Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Grimes; her daughter, Debora Grimes; her sons, Michael David Grimes and Walter Joseph Grimes II.

She is survived by her son, John Robert Grimes, and his wife, Patricia of Compass Lake, FL; grandchildren, Christina, Angel, Sara and Malissa; great grandchildren, Brandon, Bo, John, Jerimieh, Hailey and Alyssa. 

No services are planned at this time. Memorialization will be by cremation with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home handling arrangements.
