Betty Joy Hood

Betty Joy Hood, age 82, of the Lovedale community, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022. 

She was born in Trigg County, Kentucky on November 28, 1939 to James "Ben" William and Erline McBride Hargrove. She retired from Paramore's Restaurant in 1994 after twenty years as a cook. She was a long-time member of the Circle Hill Baptist church.

Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She passed on her love of gardening and crafts to her children. She enjoyed visiting with her friends at the Jackson County Senior Citizens Center and playing Bingo.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Elias David Hargrove, Hershel "Toad" Hargrove, Bobby Hargrove, Sue Skinner, Martha Jean Oliver, Margaret Dunn, Mary Lou Braucht, Carolyn June Brown and Judy Carr; sons, Terry Lane Hall and Charles Woodrow "Woody" Hall; daughter-in law, Teresa Hall and granddaughter, Tiffany Hall.

She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Sue McCool (Steve) and Donna Gay; sons, Brian Lee Hall, James Earl Hall (Genene); daughter-in-law, Kim Hall (Woody); grandchildren, Richard McCool, Melissa Johnson (George), Stephen McCool, Whitney Thomas, Ashlynn Hall, Andrew Hall, Jesse Hall, Lane Hall, Gina Hall, Jeorgia Hall, Jacob Hall, and Dustan Gay; great grandchildren, Caroline Johnson, Ben Johnson, Lincoln Johnson, Adaleigh Lee Gay, Adaline Hall, Isabella Hall and Reid Hall; as well a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be 10 A.M., Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Circle Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. John Holley officiating and Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.
