Arcie Adkins White

Arcie Adkins White age 86, of Marianna, FL passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023 at her residence. 

Arcie loved her family passionately. She supported her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in every sport they were involved in. Arcie was a Tampa Bay Rays fan and loved to watch old westerns and Perry Mason. Before her health declined, she enjoyed attending The Tabernacle in The Rocky Creek community. Known for making the best homemade biscuits, Arcie considered herself a very simple cook, however, her family and friends would tell you she was a wonderful cook and used her talent to show her love for them. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Earl White; parents, John Manuel Adkins and Vernie Martin Adkins; sisters, Myrtle Basford, Jewette Basford, Marvie Jean Steele, as well as brothers, Coy and Hubert Adkins.

Arcie is survived by her brother, Herbert “Lefty” Adkins and wife, Barbara of Marianna, FL; sisters, Mary Jane Blanchett, Kathy Townsend both of Marianna, FL and her loving sister in-law, Dorene Adkins of Palm Beach, FL. She is also survived by two children, daughter, Earldean Hinson and husband, Jack of Marianna, FL; and son, Dennis White and wife, Rhonda of Marianna, FL; grandchildren, Mary Ann Whitfield and husband, Jeffery; Dennis Ray Hinson and wife, Tonia; three great grandchildren, Tyler Whitfield, Aubrie Hinson, Chloe Johnson; four great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces’ and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M., Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Pastors Alvin Roberts and Charles Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Sims Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing. 

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1 P.M. until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
