Amy Marie Thompson

Amy Marie Thompson, age 51, of Marianna, FL, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Ascension Sacred Heart in Panama City.

Amy was born February 6, 1971 and was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and loved teaching the children in the Sunday School Class. Amy was also a secretary for the Dozier School System for many years. Her hobbies include collecting antiques, traveling and cooking. She will be greatly missed by those who were blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Thompson; maternal grandparents, Chester and Ruby Baxter; and paternal grandparents, J.R. and Lorene Thompson.

Amy is survived by her mother, JoAnn Thompson; brother, Mike Thompson all of Marianna; two aunts, Debbie Paramore of Compass Lake and Louise Foran of Dothan, AL; uncle, David Thompson of Kynesville; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at New Salem Baptist Church with Reverend Joey Woodruff officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
