Alice Virginia Floyd Zeigler, age 90, passed away at her home in Alford, FL, on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
Virginia was blessed with an abundant life that began on March 25, 1934, in Thomaston, GA. Virginia later settled in Alford, FL and had a rewarding career as a Behavior Specialist at Sunland where she eventually retired. For over three decades, she was a committed member of the Alford Baptist Church, where her faith and fellowship were sources of great comfort and joy. Virginia's passions were as nurturing as her personality; she found great pride in caring for her garden, tending to her flowers, watching hummingbirds flutter by, and doting on her "grand babies." Her renowned baking skills, particularly her cakes, brought sweetness to every family gathering and social event.
Virginia's radiant smile, hearty laughter, and the unconditional love she shared are the treasures she leaves behind. She will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
She is now reunited with her beloved husband, James Albert Zeigler, her dear son, Jim Zeigler, and her caring parents, Charlie and Alice Watson Floyd.
Virginia leaves behind her son, William Roy Zeigler; daughter, Alicia Zeigler (Randy); her cherished grandchildren, Michael Hilliard and wife, Laramie, Katlyn Hadden, Letitia Cosper and husband, Cody, Lauren Zeigler, Erica Holden, and Anthony Jones; and her adored great-grandchildren, Daeshun, Keira, Bryce, Caden, Carson, Madilyn, Paisley, and Robert; her lifelong friend, Janice Norris, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Alford Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Johnson and Jim Ballard officiating. Interment will follow in the Alford City Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. until the time of service at Alford Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to VITAS Hospice and Virginia’s nurse, Nancy Dean, for the love, care and support.
