Alice M. Johnson

Alice M. Johnson, age 80, of Cottondale, FL, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at her residence.

Alice was born February 26, 1942 and was a resident of Jackson County. She was the daughter of the late J.C. and Alice Justice Miles. For many years, she worked for Waste Management as an Administrative Assistant. Alice loved spending time with her family, cooking large meals and canning vegetables, entertaining, reading, and having a bit of sarcasm to make people laugh.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Erby Johnson; brother, Julius Miles; sisters, Aletha Miles and Viney Jean White; grandson, Andrew Franklin; brothers-in-law, William “Bill” White and James Weeks; and nephew, Larry Weeks.

Alice is survived by her son, Buddy Johnson; daughters, Janice Fatherly, Susan Mannis and husband, Paul; sister, Arletta Weeks; four grandchildren including, Richard Franklin; nieces and nephews, Terry Henderson, Wanda Horton, Susan Weeks, Pam Miles, Sheila Miles, Emmett Miles and DeWayne Miles; as well as her faithful and loving dog, Deannie.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Friday, October 14, 2022 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Reverend Gino Mayo officiating. Interment will follow in the Lovewood Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning one hour prior to the service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
