Vivian Frances (Cartwright) Jenkins

Vivian Frances Jenkins age 80 of Cottondale, FL passed away on Monday, September 9, 2019 in Flowers Hospital. Vivian was born on July 27, 1939 in Covington County, AL to the late John and Myrtle Cartwright. She moved to Cottondale in 1964 with her late husband Joe where she raised their family. She worked for forty years in the textile industry, retiring from West Point Stevens.  Vivian was an active member of First Baptist Church in Cottondale and American Legion Auxiliary Post 100. She enjoyed sewing, making crafts, baking for family and friends. She was known for her surprise deliveries of her famous cupcakes. But most of all her she loved spending time with her son, granddaughters, and great grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph “Joe” D. Jenkins, her granddaughter Breanna Jenkins, and her sister Becky Vaughn.

 Vivian is survived by her son Richard B. Jenkins and his wife Glenda, brothers Sam Ray Bryant, Jr. and wife Sara of Westville, John Wayne Cartwright of Esto, FL, and Tommy Richard Cartwright of Pace, Fl, granddaughters Stephanie Jenkins and husband Billy, Tiffanie Jenkins, great grandsons Skylar Adams, and Aiden Adams.

Services for Vivian will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 13, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Cottondale with Pastor James Gray Braxton and Pastor Jack Brock officiating. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Church of Cottondale Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
