James T Perkins

James T. Perkins, 64, of Chipley, FL passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018. He was born in Marianna, FL on July 25, 1954 to James and Faye Hodges Perkins. James was of Baptist faith and attended New Salem in Jackson County, FL. James served in the U. S. Army for 24 years and was a veteran of operation Desert Storm and the Iraq War where he was awarded several medals and accommodations. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the NRA. He worked at Washington County Jail, Sheriff’s Department, and Department of Corrections. In his spare time, James loved to ride his motorcycle.

James is preceded in death by his parents and survived by his Wife Rosemary Nelson Perkins of Chipley, FL; sons Timothy Shondale Perkins of Dothan, AL and James Fletcher Perkins of Noma, FL; daughters Lanie Nakita Anderson of Chipley, FL and Rachel Lea Anderson of Chipley, FL; special brother Tommy Williams of Marianna, FL; step-brothers Bruce Adams of Bascom, FL and Leslie Adams of Marianna, FL; sisters Freta M. Williams and children of Marianna, FL, Beverly Robinson of Marinna, FL, Becky Baxter (Roger) of Greenwood, FL; Step-sister Cindy Loper of Sneads, FL; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; uncles Wendell Hodges, Douglas Hodges, David Hodges, and Sammy Hodges; aunts Pearl Smith, Janice Williams, and Phyllis Chance; and a host of nieces and nephews

Funeral services for James will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 21, 2018 in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
