Billy J. Jones

Billy J. Jones age 77 of Sneads, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at his home.

Billy was born in Blakely, Ga to the the late James Edgar & Myrtle Lee Jones. He was a native of Jackson County and worked for the City of Marianna as a mechanic. Billy loved fishing, working in his garden, and taking care of his chickens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jimmy Jones, daughter Wendy Jones Collins, brother Robert Wade Jones, and his sisters Sarah Carlton, and Eleanor Thomas.

Billy is survived by his wife of 38 years Vera Jones of Sneads, children Bobby Jones of Sneads, Anna Ruiz (Wilfredo) of Tallahassee, Amy Cortes (Esteban) of Midway, Billie Jolean Jones Connell (Chris) of Tallahassee, and Brenda Thomas (Jason) of Crawfordville, numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is also survived by a special nephew and nieces Randy Motes (Geraldine) of Sneads, Brenda Proctor of Marianna, and Sonya Swain (Jay) of Webb, AL..

Graveside services for Billy will be held at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 P.M. in the Marinna Chapel Funeral Home.
