Betty L. (Kirkland) Roberts

Betty L. Roberts age 78 of the Alliance Community, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 in Sneads.

Betty was born on July 21, 1940 in Colquitt, Georgia  to the late Benjamin P. Kirkland and Beatrice L. Tye Kirkland. She was a member of the Cypress Community Church and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and needle point. Betty also enjoyed watching birds and other animails in nature. She loved planting flowers, traveling but most of all she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents , her husband Jimmy Roberts, Sr., daughter Debra Elmore, brother James Kirkland,son-in-law Jimmy Elmore, and daughter-in-law Sharon Roberts.

Betty is survived by her children Jimmy Roberts, Jr., Bill Roberts, and Shirley Catafamo (Richard), sisters Elizabeth Strange, Laura Kirkland, Dorothy Franklin, Mary Mears, and Lillie Walter (Gene), 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services for Betty will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 12:00 P.M. at Roberts Family Cemetery (6374 Durham Road, Marianna Florida 32448) with Rev. Dallas Ellis officiating.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
