Betty Joyce (Brown) Pelton

Betty Joyce Pelton age 90 of Alford passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019. Betty was born in Portland, Oregon on October 11, 1928. She moved to Jackson County in 1986 from Maryland. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, and loved telling stories about “the good ole days”.  Betty was a caretaker by nature who loved taking care of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Earnest and Ethel Brown, husband Harold R. Pelton, II, daughter Debralee J. Walling, and her brother Dwayne Bassett.

She is survived by her sons Harold R. Pelton, III and Greg Nickels, grandchildren Tony Shumaker (Lynn), Christopher Shumaker, Joseph Shumaker, and Shawn Nickels, 10 great grandchildren, and 3 great -great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service for Betty will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, May 3, 2019 in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until time of service.
