Helen M. Zywicki

Helen Marie Zywicki, 78, of Marianna, formerly of West Palm Beach, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024. 

Helen was born on March 28, 1945 to the late Sterling Edmund Zywicki and Mary S. Zywicki in West Palm Beach where she grew up on the family farm. She was a graduate of Belle Glade High School and Florida State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. Helen taught for thirty-four years at the Barton Elementary School in the Palm Beach County School District. She was a member of the St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, the West Palm Beach Garden Club and the American-Polish Club of Lake Worth. 

Helen was an avid gardener, and she enjoyed traveling, attending Florida State University football games and arts and crafts. She was known for her special handmade Christmas ornaments she made each year for her family. Helen enjoyed studying her family genealogy and sharing the information she discovered with her family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. Helen is survived by her sister, Kathryn Z. Roberts, and her husband, John, of Marianna; niece, Kathy Clark, and her husband, Steven, of Cleveland, Mississippi, and nephews, Russell Roberts, of Marianna, and John Young Roberts, and his wife, Kristin, of Marianna. She is also survived by her loving cousins, Edward Emil Zywicki, Adele Z. Kimbro, Judy Z. Arvidson, Bonnie Hogan, Lynn Hogan and David Hogan. 

A private family service was held on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church with Father Phil Fortin and Reverend Dr. Nathan Attwood officiating. Private Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in West Palm Beach, FL with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.
