Donald Wayne Elmore

Donald Wayne Elmore, age 70, passed from this life on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare while surrounded by his loving family.

Wayne was born September 21, 1953 in Winter Haven, FL and returned to Malone, FL where he lived most of his life. He graduated from Malone High School and worked in construction, specializing in sheetrock work. Wayne also worked many years for the Mowry Elevator Company.

He married his wife, Kelly, in 2005 and they settled in Marianna. Wayne had a huge heart and loved spending time with his family where he was known as a great husband, father, and grandfather. Wayne loved keeping things light by playing jokes and pulling pranks. He also loved hunting and fishing when he was able. Throughout his life he overcame many difficulties and obstacles, but Wayne was a fighter to the end and he persevered. He will be greatly missed.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, A.J. and Mary Lou Grice Elmore; brother, Jimmy Elmore; grandson, Grayson Elmore; and his mother in law that was like a mother to him, Lessie Jean Messer.

He is survived by his wife, Kelly Edenfield Elmore; children, Scott Smith, Douglas Elmore and Lee Elmore all of Malone, FL, Stephanie Destine (Nelson) of Tampa, FL, and Billy Tyus of Marianna; grandchildren, Cody and Cassidy Smith, Cameron Elmore, Soniah Destine, Delayne, Jalynne and Benzley Tyus; great grandchildren, Adrian and Kairi Smith; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Mariana Chapel Funeral Home with Reverends Ken Beard and Jared Bates officiating. Interment will be private.

The family will receive friends for a viewing and visitation one hour prior to the service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
