Johnnie Gilley

Mr. Johnnie Gilley age 62 of Altha, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2012 in Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. Mr. Gilley was native of Grand Ridge born on March 4, 1950 to the late Leon and Ezella Gilley. He spent many years in Jackson County as a farmer and was a member of the Cypress Community Church. Mr. Gilley loved his church, gospel sings, hunting and working at the check station at the Apalachicola Wildlife Management area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Gilley is survived by his wife Ruby Ann Gilley of Altha, three daughters; Michelle Neel and her husband DeWayne of Grand Ridge, Brandy Davis and her husband Bobby of Marianna, Kristen Gilley of Tallahassee, two step-daughters; Gloria Powell and her husband Don and Regina Powell and her husband Britt all of Valdosta, GA, two step-sons; Michael Dalton and his wife Tammy of Grand Ridge, FL and Paul Dalton of Altha, two brothers; Charles Gilley and his wife Catherine and Robert Gilley and his wife Nell all of Grand Ridge, FL, two sisters; Ida Bell Stephens and her husband Shorty and Barbara Hare and her husband Doug all of Grand Ridge, FL, thirteen grandchildren; Kayla Neel, Tyler Neel, Zac Davis, Sarea Davis, Kristie Williams, Jonathan Williams, Julie Dalton, Meagan Hansford, Tara Hansford, Caitlin Hansford, Dillion Dalton, Taylor Torbett and Riley Powell; five great grand children and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for Mr. Gilley will be held at 10:00, Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in the Cypress Community Church with Rev. Rolan Bamberg officiating. Interment will follow in the Carpenter Cemetery.

A time of remembrance will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 from 5PM to 7PM in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.

The family will be gathering at the home of Mr. Gilley’s daughter, Brandy Davis at 4370 Deering Street, Marianna, FL
