Mrs. Effie V. Mulder age 87 of Marianna passed away on Friday, August 24, 2012 in the Campbellton Graceville hospital. Mrs. Effie was born Kalamazoo, MI to the late John and Elizabeth Vlieg.
She became a resident of Marianna in 2005 coming from Palos Heights, Illinois. She was a 1942 valedictorian of Emily City High School and was a charter member at Palos Heights Christian Reformed Church for 55 years where she played the church organ for 25 years. She was a true homemaker and at the age of 50 decided to attend nursing school. Mrs. Mulder worked as the Director of Nursing until the age of 74 at Bethshan, a Christian based residential facility for adults with developmental disabilities. She attended the First Baptist Church of Marianna where she was a faithful member of the Ruth Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers. Mrs. Mulder is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, John Richard Mulder of Marianna, two sons John Allan Mulder and his wife Sherry of Miami Beach, FL and Richard Wayne Mulder and his wife Lynne of Marianna, two daughters; Judy Elizabeth Daraghy and her husband Paul of Parker, CO and June Lynette Meekma and her husband Glenn of Menomonee Falls, WS , sister-in-law Leola Vlieg of Marianna, local grandchildren; Michael Mulder and his wife Kristie, Terri Glass and her husband Grant, Christy Hatcher and her husband Wesley all of Marianna and Tami Huston and her husband David of Destin, her daughter-in-law Susan Mulder of Grand Rapids, MI, 17 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.
Services for Mrs. Mulder will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, August 27, 2012 in the First Baptist Church of Marianna with Rev. Roland Rabon officiating. A time of remembrance will be held from 2:30 P.M. until time of service.

A private family interment will follow in the Fort Barrancas National Cemetery at a later date.
